Women’s Health East are delighted to announce the next regional partner forum as part of Together for Equality & Respect and are equally pleased to have engaged Berni Murphy to facilitate the event. The forum which will focus on Social Marketing and effective communication of messages for the prevention of violence against women, including messages for White Ribbon Day and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence.
The effective use of the principles of Social Marketing and Social Marketing will be covered in the Forum.
Berni Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in Health Promotion at Deakin University, specialising in health communication. She is the co-author of two Health Promotion texts: Understanding Health: A Determinants Approach and Understanding Health Promotion. Berni has recently facilitated several Health Promotion Short Courses across the top end of Australia. She is renowned for her engaging and energetic delivery style, with University and national awards recognising her contributions to the field. Berni also has recent experience working full time in local government as a social planner and manager of a team implementing the Commonwealth funded Healthy Communities Initiative.
The forum will be held at Federation Estate on 6 August 2014.
